Stephanie joined Steinbrecher & Partners in June of 2019, merging her individual consulting practice, SPK College Advising, with ours.
She brings an extensive knowledge of the college admissions process, and a commitment to helping students find a school where they will have a successful four-year journey. She can also decipher the code of teenagers and understands the demands on their time, finding ways to make this process easier for them, not harder.
Stephanie is a 21-year resident of New Canaan, CT. She has been actively involved as a volunteer in community organizations and the public school system, including service as president of the parent organization for both the elementary school and high school. She was the College Liaison board member for the A Better Chance (ABC) house in New Canaan, guiding the residents through the college process. She served on the board of New Canaan CARES, helping improve the mental health of young people in the community. She was also a board member for the New England Dance Theatre and Whirlwind Diving. Stephanie combines this volunteer experience with her professional background in marketing for Procter & Gamble and Johnson & Johnson. After leaving the corporate world she became an entrepreneur, starting her own technology business. In order to stay connected to the young people in her community and leverage her strong communication and organizational skills, Stephanie redirected her focus to college counseling in 2016, starting graduate work at UCLA.
Stephanie constantly stays abreast of the latest college admissions trends. She has visited over 60 colleges in the last two years, digging deep to find the characteristics that make each campus unique. Thanks to the professional conferences she attends, and her vast national network, her clients feel well supported and confident throughout the college admissions process.
Stephanie earned a BA from Tufts University and an MBA from the University of Michigan. She also holds a certificate in College Counseling from UCLA, and is a graduate of the Independent Educational Consultants Association Summer Training Institute. Stephanie is a member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA) and the National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC).
